Cooking with Craig
Jocob's dad very kindly came in and cooked with the children. He showed them how to make fresh pasta and make a yummy lasagne. We all sat down and tasted it at the end. Thank you to Jacob's family for letting us have this experience

Keeping Fit and Heathly.
Yesterday we went to the Franklin Sport Centre. There was a group A and a group B but I was in group A5. First I did swimming. I went on the inflatable slide first. We went on it for a hour. Then I went to the sports area and got 3 goals in hockey.

In the holidays me and my family had to look after our friends dog brandie she has a hard tail it hurts when she hits u with it.When scooby my dog comes to me I pat him then brandie comes and wants the attention.then we had to work in the garden my dad was cutting the flax and he found a bumpy bit then he gave it to me.

The Rainbow Fish story
Please play this video and watch the children's version of the Rainbow Fish. They made all the props, took the photos, recorded themselves telling the story and made the animations come to life. I then put it into windows movie maker and did a bit of editing.

Today In The Classroom
Today room 15 are trying to get to the last place on the class treat chart before the term ends.For our class treat we get ice cream and I like the treats because they are always a surprise and are Yummy.

My new arm cast
Last week on Wednesday, Sam, Cameron, William and I Shameel were playing kicks with Sam's rugby ball. When I almost caught the ball it hit my finger and bent it. The next morning I felt a BIG pain. At school I couldn't help it so I asked for an ice pack. A few minuets later I was about to collapse so I asked to ring my parents. So I went home. On friday we went to avondale to see our family doctor he said I have to have a X-ray test. After that I went to White Cross and so I got my cast [I have never had one before.]

Today we had music with Mr Lecher and we had to sing songs for the whole time but at the end we got to play an instrument. Me and Ronnie got our instrument. I got a big thing Ronnie only got a small one but Sam and Camoren didn't have any so they came with me because I had a big thing and Ronnie wanted to use it.

Kayleighs voki
Today I did my voki. Mine was a fat turkey with a t_shirt and it had a knife and fork in its hands. Mine had a big chubby thing on the side of its beak. When Miss Edwards played mine everybody started to laugh, Jade and Chloe laughed the loudest.

Cd Art
On Wednesday Room 15 got to draw our name on cds, But first we had to draw one on scrap paper. The first to finish were Cameron and Kavan. We also got to color them in which was fun. Cameron's was the best. If we finished we had to show Miss Edwards and then we got to draw our name on the real cd and then color it in.

Today in maths we learned how to find one more and one less from six digit numbers. At first I didn't get it then Miss Edwards explained how to do it and then I found it really easy. then Ronnie, Cory and Joseph didn't get it so I had to help them.

Disc art!!!!!?
Room15 is doing disc ar. We wirte using grafitti on our disc. What we do is trace around the disc and we write our name on the disc. Then we are going to oolor them in in vivids They are looking great. Camerons one was the best.

DVD art
Room 15 are doing DVD disc art. We are writing our names on old DVD disc's with vivid's. Kavan's and Miss Edwards and also Cameron's disc's are on the board so that we could get some idea's from their disc. So that is a thumb's up for everyone and we are practicing our grfiti and that is getting on well too. I am really excited to get all my art done.

privelege
On Friday we had privilege my privelege was singstar and we had partners me and Tiana were partners. And we sang against Ashlee and Paris. We sang skater boy. I didnt know the whole song so I didnt sing the whole entire song so I just watched it and then I sang the part that I knew. Then we had turns on the computer, we had a choice between mathletics and the blog.

Thursday Third Of June And Friday Fourth Of June
Yesterday at school instead of doing Jump Jam we did Skipping and it was really cool because you can have a skipping rope for one person, you can have one for two people, you can have one for three people and if you have a really LONG skipping rope you can have four people. The way you use a skipping rope for four you have two people jumping and two people holding either end of the skipping rope. And today at school after Morning tea we did some Maori on the Projecter and we have to write them in our writing books, well the others were doing that me and Amy were blogging and Ellie and Dion were on Mathletics.

Volcano pictures
Today me and room15 are finishing off our pictures of volcanos from last term and we are puting white dots on the flowers and puting on the black sun on. I am really excited to put our pictures on the wall in the library when they are finished. We are making a train out of colurfull bottle tops and it is coming well and insted of jump jam we are practicing skipping and that is coming well to. There was a big yellow skiping rope that can fit 4 or 6 people in it . We have got new pedomaters.

Today at school
Today we were doing our second coat of red on our Rangitoto paintings. Some of us were doing our flowers and some of us were doing our urben art we go over our names with red or black vived. And we had to finish before five minuts I think Hannah's picture is the best of all.

Last Saturday it was our netball game. Our netball teams name is called Golden Pixes and these are people that are in it in our class. Karleen, Kayleigh, Ellie, Lily. We won it was 1 and 6. It was fun.

The soccer challenge
Last Saturday[30 May] we played with Beachlands. At the first I was very nervous because Iwas the goalkeeper. I saved 5 out of 6 strikes so at half time it was 1-0. On the second half I was an ATACKER then I was sick of them getting goals then I made a line break but didn't get a goal. then the game ended it was 7-0 [how sad]. Then me and my dad went to Clevdon and got a passionfruit ice cream and went back home. Willam and Cameron play in my team as well.

Maths Workshop
On Wednesday [2nd June] Me, William, Hannah, Shameel, Callum and Samuel went to the Gifted and Talented Maths Workshop. It was 9:00 am 'till 3:00 pm. Our Rangitoto pictures
Yesterday we finished off our Rangitoto paintings. First we ripped off the masking tape then we painted the top and bottom red. After that we painted the volcano black. I didn't get to do an end bit when we done our little plants. Soon Mrs Bradshaw came and gave us some pegs to hang them up to dry. Before we started the art monitors sorted out all of the paint and the paint brushes. The art monitors are Hannah, me and Katie.

Fire Alarm
This morning my mum was droping me, Jamie and Christopher off at school and Miss Kendll told us to go to the hall because the fire alarm wouldn't stop so we got back in the car. When you got into the hall we had to sit down and sing. It was scary and fun at the same time.

Emergency at school

Shared Lunch
Thank you to everyone who supplied food for the shared lunch on Friday, there was loads of yummy food to eat and I felt very full afterwards!! The children got their class treat from me, lots of chocolates to eat!!!
I think Kassidi had a lovely last day and we all wish her well at her new school and house. Keep in touch Kassidi.
The blog is really up and running now as I pass on more responsibility onto the children. They are learning how to download all the picture and voice files and saving them on the computer. They are learning how to make movies and to upload everything onto the blog.
I think you will agree that the children are doing a fantastic job of contributing and making this blog their own.

Room 15's reward
A few days ago room15 got to the top of the class reward chart! There are 27 squares and every time we are good or quiet working the class moves up one square. On the blog there is a poll that shows the votes. So far the chocolate lollies are wining with 8 votes.

Today room15 have been trying to find facts about trains and answer some of the questions on our Wonder Why Board in the back of the classroom.
After that Hannah called out some of the spelling words from one or two of the spelling lists.
After morning tea group four in maths were working with Miss Edwards while the others were doing urban art. Group four are making a movie about column subtrction.

Everyday we take out our little whitebords and pens. Miss Edwards calls out maths questions and we all have to answer them by writing the answers on the boards and holding them up.
Glenbrook Trip
On Thursday 22 April 2010 syndicate 3 went to the Glenbrook train station, on this fascinating train trip I enjoyed riding on ww644 which is the name of the engine, I enjoyed this because we had the opportunity to go on a very bumpy train ride, and to be the very first school to ride all the way to Waiuku in the last 42 years!

Our Train Reports
On Monday last week we started doing our train report. We had to write about trains of the present, past and the future. In our class we have our own train books and we had to write about something interesting in the books we had picked and and I was writting about bullet trains and we watched a train on youtube on the internet Exclorer. It was a bullet train, it was fast and then we watched the fastest bullet train, it could go over 500kph. It went fast when it went past the people and it was so fast we watched it over and over again, it was so cool and fast. I like our train topic because we get to learn about all the trains all over world. Trains are exciting, I know some of the kinds of trains steam trains, bullet trains, trains pulled hores and maglove trains. There are more names and there are trains that go in an underground cave for minutes and sometimes for a little while. Bullet train's are the fastest trains on earth there only in Japan. There is a big train in Glenbrook railway station, it's a girl and, it's called Diana and she's got a sister but I cant remember her name. My mum's friend Puna's boy know's her name.
I wonder who acted Thomas the Tank Engine, James, Percy, and Gordon?
Lunch Time Rugby
At lunch time every Monday and Wednesday a group of year 5 and 6 and I go onto the field and Mrs Perrot teaches us how to play tackle rugby.
On Friday year 5, 6, 7 and 8 play rugby with Miss R. Year 5, 6 play against year 7, 8 and I think we're going to lose every week!!

The movie that we made has pictures of some students reserching on trains of the present and past. Willam, Shameel and me (Hannah) got to learn intresting things and how to make a movie, new files and some power point skills. We really enjoyed doing this because it gives us expreince to teach other people in the future. And to do more things like this.

What it feels like to be the class star student!!
Today I was the star student presented by Hannah. It feels good to be star student because we get to have golden time on the compter, sit on the a chair at the end of school or in the morning when your techer is doing the roll. We also get free time on mathletices.

Today has been a good day in the classroom. I was really pleased with the way you all worked on the class report about trains. There was lots of really good group work going on and most of you were on task and working hard. I was espcially pleased with those children who found out intersting facts and retold them in their own words: Jonty, Jacob, Samuel, Charis, Hannah, William were just a few of those children!!! We will have to put the report on our blog so your grown ups can see it!!
Maths was good as well. Group 4 - your column subtraction is fantastic, I am really impressed with how quickly you are picking that up - well done.
I enjoyed listening to your news today - Sam you always make the class laugh!!

The suprise!
Today room 15 & 16 had a vistor. It was Geronimo Stilton! It was very exciting everyone got a hug, shake and a stamp that has his signature. Mostly everyone knew who he was and where he lives. Lots of people had some facts about him like his relatives names, where he works etc. Most people tried to figure out who it really was but that doesen't matter.

Room 15 went to the book fair today.
Today room 15 went to the school book fair to look at the books. We all got a wish list to write all the books we liked or wanted, there weren't many cheap prices except the rubbers which were only $2.00. I enjoyed looking at the all amazing books, my favourite book was The Kingdom Of Fantasy. We had at least 15 minutes there, it was fun!

Spellings - each child was given a new spelling sheet to work on after we did a spelling test last week. They have highlighted or circled the words they got wrong in their test. They need to keep learning these words so they an past this list. They may also have the next list to work on.
They glued these sheets into their homework books, well those that had their homework books in class today did.
Can you help your child learn these words with daily practise. Ask them to look at the word, say the word, cover the word, write the word then check the word. This is called: look, say, cover, write, check. You can then get them to write in the words into sentences so they are learning them in context as well.

Well done room 15!!!
I am really impressed with all your comments, especially those that are coming from you at home. I am especially pleased that I have one parent comment on here already!!! (Thanks Dion's mum).
However, there are lots of spelling mistakes and errors in your writing. I told you that you needed to check this before you sent me a post. I am not perfect though and I make mistakes, therefore, there will be 100 team points to each person who can tell me I have made a mistake!!
(That is for the kids and not the parents!!)
In a while I will not publish anything that you have not checked for mistakes. At the moment I am just pleased that you are adding posts so it is all good for now.

Our new blog page!!
Hi room 15. We are going to start using the blog before we go onto using our Wiki. So what you need to do is click on the word 'comment' at the bottom of this writing. Type in here what you would like to see on our class blog. Give me some ideas about how you think it is looking. What pages can we add? What sort of work would you like to go on here?
The post will be emailed to me and I will read it first. I will then publish it onto our main page, if it is appropriate and you have checked your spelling mistakes and punctuation etc.
